Program Description

A community program that can help you have a healthy baby and raise a healthy family.

Who can use this program?

Programs and services are open to all parents and families.

How do I use this program? Do I need a referral?

Anyone can refer someone to our programs.  You are welcome to drop in at any time.

What services are offered?

In this program we offer:

  • Information about the best foods for you and your baby
  • Information about the effects of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs on your unborn baby
  • Food coupons during pregnancy and until your baby is six months old
  • Breastfeeding education and support
  • Prenatal classes
  • Lactation Consultant
  • Vitamin supplements during your pregnancy, and vitamin D for babies
  • Emotional support during pregnancy, after baby and as your baby grows
  • Information on how to budget, shop and cook nutritious meals on a budget
  • Group discussions on parenting issues
  • Information about resources in your community
  • Car seat safety information
  • Bus tickets to attend our program
  • Drop in individual appointments at POP or at your home
  • A free clothing depot

We also offer groups and activities that encourage healthy attachment with your baby and teach parenting skills.

Some of our groups and activities include:

  • Infant massage
  • Sewing Group
  • Swimmimg
  • Breastfeeding Class
  • Prenatal Class
  • Postnatal Class

Thursday mornings are Drop-in education sessions with a variety of guest speakers and lunch. Begins promptly at 11:00am.
