Pacific Post-Partum Support Society is a non-profit organization that supports mothers and their families experiencing postpartum distress, depression and anxiety. They offer a variety of services depending upon the families needs. Their model of care is “mothers supporting mothers”.
Who can use this program?
Support services are available to all moms and/ or dads or partners experiencing postpartum/ perinatal depression or anxiety.
How do I use this program? Is a referral required?
Women may self-refer but many referrals also come from physicians and public health nurses. There will be an initial intake call where counsellors will assess how best Pacific Post Partum Support Society can help you. This might result in follow-up support based on the client’s needs. Toll free for outside the Lower Mainland is 1.855.255.7999. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 3:00pm.
What services are offered?
PPPSS provides telephone support for mothers, dads,and same-sex partners. They also have a number of publications available.
