If you are worried about your child’s health or development, you have come to the right place.  This section contains information about the programs in Williams Lake that provide support to families to ensure healthy development for children birth to age six.

Interior Health Public Health Nurses offer immunizations, growth and development checks, and much more.

Interior Health audiology focuses on prevention and early identification of hearing problems. We provide services for people aged birth to 19 years old, residing within the Interior Health area.

This is a free dental clinic for children 1 to 4 years old, offered every month by a certified dental assistant and a registered dental hygienist

The BC Healthy Kids Program helps low income families with the costs of basic dental care and prescription eyewear for their children.

Interior Health Speech-Language Pathologists help families with children from birth to school entry with pronunciation, understanding of language, expression of language, social communication, voice, hearing or stuttering difficulties.

Provides services to children from birth to six years of age to improve communication skills and/or oral motor skills.

Working with children in a child care setting who require extra support to participate in the full range of community activities and services.

Offered to children from birth to 18 years of age assisting with activities of daily living such as playing, learning, feeding and dressing.

Promotes physical development and movement in children from birth to school entry.

Provides support to families with children and youth with FASD and other complex developmental disorders in order to improve the children’s long term outcomes by increasing the knowledge of parents and professionals about developmental-behavioural conditions such as FASD.

Autism services provides intervention for children diagnosed with Autism

CYMH is a program under the Ministry of Child and Family Development. Clinicians will work with children, youth and their families to promote health and wellness for those suffering from a diagnosable mental health disorder.

The Interior Region Family Navigator, a program of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), will help families of children and youth with navigation of healthcare and social services in the BC interior.
