About Baby Box University

Baby Box University is a platform established by The Baby Box Co. to provide expecting and new parents with universal access to educational resources and a support system. Developed in conjunction with leading medical experts, Baby Box University includes videos, articles, an ‘ask an expert’ feature, e-books and more.

The Baby Box Co. is the first company to offer traditional Baby Boxes to families outside of Finland. They collaborate with organizations, such as the Women’s Contact Society, to improve outcomes for mothers and children; to educate expectant and new parents about Early Child Development; to promote key health issues like safe sleep practices and breastfeeding; to promote maternal and infant health and well-being.

As of June 1st, the Women’s Contact Society is an official distributor of Baby Boxes!  All other distribution centres are listed here.

 

Who can use this program?

You are eligible for a free baby box if you are currently expecting or have a child under three months of age.

How do I use this program? Do I need a referral?

To access this service you must register at Baby Box University, complete the British Columbia Syllabus, and show proof of completion at the Women’s Contact Society.  Proof of completion includes a printed copy of your certificate, an emailed copy of your certificate, or a screen shot of your certificate.  Once proof of completion has been received, you can pick up your Baby Box!  For more detailed instructions click here.

What services are offered?

The Baby Box package includes the box, mattress, waterproof mattress protector and fitted sheet.  Additional resources tailored to our community’s needs are included.  In addition to the Baby Box package, Baby Box University also offers support and education through videos, e-books, and their “ask-an-expert” feature.
