Program Description

Supporting Aboriginal communities in the delivery of culturally appropriate early child development services, both on and off reserve. Services offered by the Aboriginal Early Childhood Development worker are designed to meet the needs of children with special needs.

Who can use this program?

Support is provided to Aboriginal families of Tsilhqot’in and/or Ulkatchot’en descent, living on or off reserve.

How do I use this program? Do I need a referral?

A referral is not needed to get service, call the front desk and you will be directed to the AECD Outreach worker.

What services are offered?

  • Assistance finding childcare
  • Support and consultation to childcare setting
  • Individual planning
  • Support for families and childcare providers
  • Assistance accessing other community resources
  • Doing development screening and assessments at the request of the family
